Master Embedded Systems & Compute Curriculum (20 Courses)

A complete, structured curriculum spanning Embedded Linux, RTOS Determinism, CUDA Parallel Computing, Edge AI/TinyML, and Automotive SDV. Senior Engineering Rule: Never study in isolation. Couple every course with physical hardware — building one working board-support package, custom RTOS scheduler, or edge neural-network driver on silicon carries 10x the impact of a paper certificate.

📐 Interactive Circuit & Protocol Sub-Graphs

Interactive visual diagrams for high-speed protocols, power stage shoot-through prevention, and control loops.

1. SPI 4-Mode Timing Analyzer (CPOL & CPHA)
Clock polarity and phase relationship for synchronous serial peripherals.
Mode 0: Idle Clock LOW (CPOL=0). Data is captured on the leading RISING edge and changed on the trailing FALLING edge.
2. H-Bridge Half-Bridge Dead-Time Insertion
Preventing nanosecond supply rail shorts during complementary PWM switching.
Critical Mechatronics Protection
High-Side FET (Q1 Gate) t_dead Low-Side FET (Q2 Gate) Both switches OFF during t_dead to prevent 24V supply short
Without dead-time insertion (typically 100ns – 500ns depending on gate capacitance and turn-off delay), the falling FET hasn't fully cleared its conduction channel before the rising FET activates, causing catastrophic shoot-through.
3. Pierce Crystal Oscillator Circuit & Load Capacitance
MCU internal inverting amplifier with external feedback and load capacitors.
Formula: C1 = C2 = 2(CL - Cstray)
STM32 Microcontroller Inv OSC_IN OSC_OUT Rf (1MΩ - 10MΩ) Quartz Crystal (16MHz) C1 (22pF) C2 (22pF)
Feedback resistor Rf biases the internal inverter into its linear amplification region. Series damping resistor Rd limits drive level to prevent mechanical crystal fracturing.
4. Discrete PID Feedback Loop & Anti-Windup Clamping
Real-time control architecture with derivative noise filter and actuator saturation clamp.
Deterministic Control
Setpoint r(k) Σ e(k) PID Algorithm Kp·e + Ki·∫e + Kd·de/dt Anti-Windup Clamp ±100% Motor / Plant BLDC + Encoder Feedback Sensor y(k) (Quadrature Counts)
Anti-windup conditional clamping halts numerical integration whenever the actuator hits 100% duty cycle, preventing massive system overshoot and settling lag.

🎙️ 2-Minute Technical Pitch & FYP Defense Framework
How to structure your elevator pitch and defend hardware mistakes honestly.
Proven Defense Strategy

1. The 2-Minute Pitch Structure:

"I'm an embedded systems engineer specializing in low-level firmware, ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, and hardware-software integration. On my final year capstone project, I designed an autonomous pick-and-place mechatronic system utilizing STM32F4, FreeRTOS for multi-axis motor synchronization, and SPI-driven optical positioning. I enjoy solving real-world electrical bugs at the intersection of PCB layout and firmware timing."

2. How to Defend a Hardware Mistake:

When asked: "Tell me about a hardware or firmware bug you made and how you resolved it."
Do not say: "I've never made a mistake."
Do say: "On our prototype rev 1 board, I selected an older LDO and placed low-ESR ceramic caps on the output. The circuit oscillated at 150kHz. Using an oscilloscope, I identified the phase margin instability caused by the missing ESR zero. For rev 2, I migrated to a low-ESR stable regulator and calculated decoupling loop inductances to eliminate EMI ringing."
